Need Help

Sorry for the cross post. I posted this in the General Discussion. Should have been posted here.

So, I recently installed a MTX 942 and 12" JL W7. I have a 2003 VW Jetta GLi with the monsoon premium 6 stereo. I used a SOEM-T LOC for signal. I grabbed signal behind the radio.

The problem is that everytime I turn the volume high and the bass hits hard, the factory speakers start to distort and have a lot of static. I unplug the RCA wires from the LOC, killing the amp and sub and the distortion/static goes away. When there isn't heavy bass, it seems like it's playing fine.

Here's the wires I tapped into behind the radio:

RF+ - Green

RF- - Black

RR+ - Orange

RR- - Black

So far, I've ruled out the RCA wires. I orignally though that the RCA wires were pinched somewhere, so I ran a second set and the problem still persisted. So it's not that. I put the wires in one by one and it seems like the problem is still there no matter which channel I use. Im starting to think maybe the monsoon amp is running out of amperage when the bass hits because the monsoon system works fine when the RCA wires are both unplugged but when the RCA wires are plugged in; I get the static.

Anyone know where to go from here?

find the main power wire going to the monsoon amp and check to what the voltage is when your playing the heavy bass notes thru the other amp.maybe the mtx amp is drawing too much power

Maybe you don't put the loc between the HU and Monsoon amp, you put it after the Monsoon amp. You may be messing with the factory signal.
