need help

hi i'm trying to use two stereos on the same set of speakers and just want to know if that can be done, because i use my car sound system alot even when i'm not driving so i'm planning to put a second stereo in the trunk of the car, if this can be done can you tell me how and do i need a switch or something.

I would recommend getting an equalizer or line driver that has two seperate input sources. Most of the high end Eq's and line drivers have this option.

I know the kicker's KQ5 has two source swithcing and Eclipse makes one aswell. Im pretty sure the AudioControl four.1 has 2 input sources awsell......but Im not %100 on the audiocontrol.

But if you want to got the less expensive way, just pick up a rca switch from radioshack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I dont see your reasoning as to why you would want to do that. Having a second stereo in your trunk wouldn't do anything different than the one that is in the front of your car that you use when you're driving. If you want to listen to your stereo when you aren't driving, just use your same stereo. I'm not sure about this, but I'd recommend some alternative power supply for it though, so that you dont run down your battery. NOt sure how you would go about hooking one up though... sorry. Just leave your car idling for a little bit periodically to let your alternator recharge your battery. Thats all I can really say.

As for hooking up 2 stereos to the same speakers... I've never tried. Never had a reason to even ponder it. I'm pretty sure you could do it if you made some kind of little adaptor box thing. Just get your parts from Radio Shack. I'll brainstorm some at school and hit you back later.
