Need help with XM Radio

Hi everyone, I am just putting the finnishing touches on my system (pics will come soon) I can not however seem to get the XM part to work. I have a Pioneer 740mp receiver and the Pioneer P900xm tuner. and a Terk Glass mount antenna

When I select the XM source on the Tuner I can channel 0 with the ID number. The number pops up no problem. When I change it to channel 1 the "Preview" station I should be able to hear it weather it is hooked up or not right? well that is where my problem lies. I can not hear anything. I have not officialy activated it for 2 reasons. 1 being the instructions say that I should be able to hear that channel before I do so. And secondly if you do it online you get free activation and the first month free. But their site is not currently working for activation.

Today, it seems to be loading some stations (not all of them) but no sound... looks like everything is going well.. cept the sound. I just called for them to activate it to see what that does. But I thought you were suppost to hear the preview channel regardless.

Any help would be nice.

could be the xm module. I have the gex-p900 and it has been in the shop since sept 1!!!!! Mine just kept saying "no signal" but everything else was fine. You should be able to hear music on the preview channel......even if your service is not connected. If it gets one channel it should get them all.

it sounds as if you have the IP bus cable plugged into the wrong spot on your xm tuner. There are 2 ip bus connex on the tuner 1 is blue the other is black. you want the black one. We have had customers mix this up before and your symptons sound similar.

ummmmmmmmmmmm yea...as embarrassing as it is. I found that was the problem last night. I cant believe I overlooked something so simple.

Thanks Chris, that would have helped had I not done a complete overhaul late last night
