Need help with the finishing touches.

As the title says, I'm pretty sure I have the general idea of my new audio system down. Its going in a 99 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. I'm going to be working on a ~$500 budget here. Heres what I got so far.

Front - ID CTX650cs - $180 new

Rear - Alpine SPS 600 - already have

Sub - Alpine SWS 10" ~$120 new (needs to eventually fit under rear seat, so guessing less than 5.5" depth)

Deck - sony cdx f5510 I already have, doesn't look expensive, so less chance of break in.

Amp - no idea. something to push the fronts and the sub, leave rears on HU

What do you think? Where could I go better? What amp? Better sub?I am looking more towards SQ with a little loudness, rather than pure loudness, but still want to get loud when I want, but not competition level loud. Right now you can barely hear the pathetic cheap system I got outside the truck, windows open or closed.

I am a little leery of ebay due to the last few audio transactions there have been less than smooth. Have received defective items, wrong items all together, cancellations due to out of stocks, and so on and so forth. I am not all together against ebay, but not to save $25-30. Maybe $75 or more.

Thanks for your time and advice.

I would suggest looking into a 4 channel amplifier to run your sub and comps. Use the front two channels on the comps and make sure you can bridge the rear two channels on your sub. The only down side is to make sure that your rear channels can bridge to the final load of your subwoofer!

Either that or go for two amps.... A decent sized class a/b for your comps and a class d for your sub...

With regards to amps, there are tons of options out there, but you may have to push your budget higher OR look in the ca.com classifieds for a great deal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You could definitely upgrade the components, and subwoofer. Maybe look into some Arc Audio stuff? They have affordable components and subwoofers that are VERY impressive. The ARC KS300.4 can drive a component set and a subwoofer as well...

Cool, thanks for all the input so far. I was thinking of the Morel Tempo 6, or HSK 65. I know its kinda big jump up, but hey, why not. As for the type R, I see its got almost a 7" mount depth. Not sure that will work unless I forgo mounting it under the seat like I want to. The thought of 2 8" is interesting. Will have to look into that.

Will that cadence really do 600W x 2? for that price? if so, I'll will definitely give that one some serious consideration.

Would like to stay away from doing 2 amps, unless its easier to do than I think it is. Wouldn't it require 2 power leads, two grounds, and so on, or is it easier? And if I stay with one amp, I would need something that will sound good with either 300W, or something like 8"s, that would go with 2x150w

Any other thoughts, ideas, or input?

OK, now I don't know what to do. The company that sent me the bad alpine type r 6x9s, and the wrong amp want to replace everything with new, and correct. I kinda want my money back and to start over from the beginning, but don't want to deal with any more hassles or go through a shyt storm to do it. How much worse would Type R 6x9s be then the IDs, and a RF Power 400.4 be then that cadence. I bought that stuff before finding this place. i need some quick advice please.

Personally I would act like the pissed off customer you should be and demand a full refund
You know, I think your right. I would rather deal with some shit, and possibly lose a little money due to shipping loss, and have a system I can appreciate. Rather than roll over, and have a system I am not happy with.

Hopefully they will take it back, and not have to deal with credit charge backs and such.

I'm leaning towards a RE SR 10, but still not sure on the amp. Not sure if I should do the cadence, which is not in stock, or just do 2 separate amps, one for the fronts, maybe rears too, and 1 mono for the sub.

Anyone have any more advice for the amps? It (they) will be powering ID CTX65cs in the front, a RE SR10, and possibly a little juice to the sps600 rears. Arizona mentioned the cadence TXA-6004. Anything else to look at? I don;t need to power the whole system in one amp, I do have an old Legacy Series 2 LA220 from the previous owner I can throw on the rears.

So what does anyone got for suggestions?
