Ok, I have 2 12" inch duel brand subs in a box (550 peak watts each), a 1000 watt legacy amp, and a pioneer deh-9200? that has mosfet 45 x 4 and Im looking for some 6" x 9"s and some 4" x 6"s to complete the system so that I can put it in my 80' coupe deville.

Right now im either going to get the 2 way Alpine SPR-69LP... which as 275 peak watts and an RMS of 55 watts...

Or the 3 way Infinity 9613I... which has a peak watts of 300 and an RMS of 100 watts...

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=118648&catOid=-13092&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes&BV_UseBVCookie=No

And I plan on getting an Infinity 4" x 6" for the front....

Do I have too many watts?

Will I need to buy another amp for the 6" x 9"s and 4" x 6"?

What about another battery?

Any opinions, or advice is very much appreciated.

cmon fellas....

Only amps put out watts, speakers "accept" watts, thats what powers them, your deck puts out around 20wattsx4 RMS. Any speakers you hook up to it will ONLY get a maximum of 20watts RMS nomatter what the speakers themselves are rated at.

Not necessarily, you can definitely run them off your deck, they wont get extremely loud and clear, but they will work. Also, don't bother with anything more than 2-way coaxials, 3-ways etc, are just a marketting gimmick, usually sounding worse than 2-ways and costing more.

What about another battery?
Not unless you plan on getting a few more big amps, that legacy you have does nowhere near its "rated" 1000watts. Legacy is one of the shittiest brands in car audio, along with Dual.

go to circuit city or best buy or a store like that and find a pair of 6x9s that sound good to YOUR ears, then buy them online for much cheaper and run them off of your head unit.

based on your picks for subs and sub amp, you dont seem like an audiophile that would appreciate the increase in SQ per dollar you would have to spend on comps and 4ch amp

components. seperates, you know the sets that come with a mid-bass driver and seperate tweeter.

these systems sound much better and will give you the best sound stage.

getting an amp will provide cleaner power and more power. Trust me this would make for a kick *** setup.

sure you could buy those other speakers but they wouldn't be as good. Maybe they would be good enough for you though.

Well, I knew the subs are shitty already, Im borrowing them and the amp from my bro until I have enough money for better subs and amp......

I didnt know the amp was that shitty though...

What kind of amp do I need?

What other speakers are you talking about, the 6" x 9"s?

Easy for us to say, yes, but realistically, a guy with a legacy amp and dual subs probably isnt too concerned with amazing sound. To upgrade to a decent amp, components, etc.. would be alot of money an labor and probably not worth it to him, atleast right now. I'd still recommend just going with midlevel coaxials, and if thats not good enough for him, maybe do some upgrading later on.

No, Im not really concerned with AMAZING sound, I just want to put the shit I have in right now until I can upgrade later.... Right now I have the stock system in my car from 1980 so whatever I put in will be a significant change. I just want what i have in to be safe and sound pretty good.

Id like to put the subs, 6" x 9"s, 4" x 6" in my car with my pioneer deck, ( i dont have the 6" x 9"s or 4" x 6" yet) If the amp i have wont power all of this adequately i will buy a better one though.

id really appreciate all the help I can get because I dont know what im doing and apparently none of my friends do either...
