Need help with switched power

I am trying to install my new deck but the harness does not have an ignition power (switched power) coming from the car to the deck.

I have to splice in somewhere that is supplied with switched power, so only power when the car is on. I just cant get any place to work.

I have tried to get to the actual ignition and it is very hard to get to those wires.

Ive tried the fuse block on a couple that i thought would work but they are getting constant power.

PLEASE HELP

the car is 2004 gran prix

Try the windsheild wiper on the fuse panel it's switched on every car I can think back to, but there should be a turn on lead for the factory or did it work with the key's out of the car?

there is no turn on lead coming through the factory harness so you have to find one yourself.

i even tried 2 fuses, one was pwr windows and the other was stereo but both were constant.

I'll try that really quick though I;ll let you know what happens

take off the passenger kick panel. In that bundle of wires, there will be either a thick yellow or orange (can't remember which color). I'm talkin pretty thick, like 12 gauge wire. That should be RAP - or retained accessory power - so it'll turn off once the car is shut down and a door is opened.

theres 3 yellows ones.. 2 are the bigger ones and the other is something else im pretty sure..

Is there any way of knowing for sure, because they are exactly the same and i dont want to just cut into them and find out its constant

**** it up and go to the column should find a pink wire and an orange or brown wire pink will be ignition and orange or brown will be accessory both will work the same for your radio
believe me i tried.. its no easy task..

there is no slack at all in them and no way to directly see it without laying on the floor after removing 3 panels.

Hence the "**** it up" part. My advice to you would be to individually pull every single fuse on your fuse panel and check the voltage of both sides with a meter. There HAS to be at least one that's off when the car is off. When you find one, don't just run the power from there to your deck, you may end up overloading and blowing the fuse. It would be better to use the power from that fuse to drive a relay.

Well I just decided to get the gmos harness so the switched power is solved..

But of course with my luck now o get in and there is no power to my factory harness.

I checked the fuses that I was messing with and I check the one that says radio/amp.

Any suggestions?
