Need help with sound deadening material installation

I finished my rear doors, needed to add more and fixed my rear rattles, I put as much as I could on the external outer metal, maybe left about 2-3 inches untreated on each side of the external metal.

The problem I have is one of the rear doors (left)does not close as easy as the right door. My right door, I barely push and it closes by itself, my left door does not close unless I make 2 or even more times the effort to close it. I have more than enough on both doors and I do not want to waste material since all I want to do is make it close easier and tighter.

My question,

Where do I add more SDM to add weight to make it close with less effort, inner layer center, Lower, higher ?

outer layer, inner layer? closer to the hinges, center, high, low? closer to the end, high, low, middle?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks Flex68, I know what you mean, I just don't like 3 doors closing with way less effort, my door is fine thanks my car is just too old and ther rear doors are hardly used. I will work on it to figure it out where I can add more sound deadening material and hopefully figure it out, maybe I will put a 2 or 3 lb rock in between the layers and move it inside to figure out where it needs more weight, i think every car is different and there is no science to get the doors close better, just to make it sound better.

Just pour in some wet sack create approx 3in deep should get it done,be sound proof/water proof, add weight you need, and cheap.

I have no clue what wet sack is. In any case I added a bit of dynamat on areas that were missing on the external layer close to the edge on both sides and that did the trick. I really was not that much at all, maybe like half of square foot or less combined.

I have a question for the most experienced guys, I did the egg foam on one side on the fronts while one panel was off, I did not hear much difference, what I heard was maybe a bit more low bass but slightly less volume, so I decided to skip that on the front doors.

Here is my question, will it be a fact that, the more sound deadening butyl material I add, at some point, the more power I would need to really get the benefits?

Thanks
