Need help with planned setup? Suggestions?

After hearing my TC OEM10 paired with my Sundown 1500D, my buddy decided that he wanted to outfit his car with a complete system as well. I told him he wouldn't be able to get an OEM 10 with a 1500D with his budget of $800 (which he said could be extended to $1000), and he said it's fine.

He drives a '00 Accord V6 Sedan and is looking to get a complete system installed on a budget.

Do you guys have any suggestions? I was thinking of the following:

-Kenwood HU or a lower end Alpine

-PG RSD 65cs front components (will they fit?)

-PG RSD 65cs rear components (or possibly just some Pioneer REV 6x9's for rear fill)

-Alpine Type R 12" Dual 4ohm in a DIY sealed box

-Amplifiers are still unknown. I was thinking along the lines of getting him an amp that will give each sub 650wrms at 2ohms. Then, 80-100 for the front components. Can amps that put out this much fit the budget? I was thinking maybe some Cadence TXA amps or maybe some used Rockford Fosgate amps.

-Generic deadener

Any suggestions to make this build a bit cheaper, or rather, make it better but at the same time still keep the budget under $1k?

If he has a total of 1k to spend on everything, he's probably not gonna be as loud as you are with your 1500 watts.

HU: probably around $150 for a decent used, maybe new one

Speakers/Comps: 2 sets: atleast $200

Wiring/deadener/DIY box/: ~$150

Speakers/Comps amp: ~$150 if he wants one

only leaving you with around $350 for amp and sub...

I'd say start looking in the classifieds and start piecing it together

I was thinking two Type 2 Dual 4's....along with a JBL 1200.1 amp. How about that?

I think I'll stick with the two Type R's with possibly the JBL amp.

I'm moving towards getting a set (perhaps two) of PG RSD 65cs comps, but their unrealibility is a big turn off. What are the chances of me getting a faulty set?

How much room does he have in his trunk? He can get a nice 15" he doesn't need comps in the rear.
