need help with pioneer CD-IB100II ipod interface

ok i have a pioneer avh-p6500dvd and i just got the CD-IB100II interface box so i can hook up a ipod i hooked up the + and - and the bus cord to the radio, but nothing is workin, on the ipod it is sayin the device is connected but nothing on the radio and theres no option that says ipod ect, anyone have any idea the interface is ment to work with this radio thans in advance
