Alright, I Just finished purchasing a nice pair of boston acoustic rally components. I got them at a really good price and didnt really care to look about the mounting depth. So naturally when I get them, they dont fit in the door when the windows are down. The car is a 1990 honda accord.

What is the best way to fit those suckers in the same spot, cause kickpanels are out of the question. Would just mounting a piece of mdf there work?

In my car The doors have factory cutout for 5 1/4's in the framing but there arent any holes in the pannel itself.

this is what the framing looks like(not mine but its identical)

and I saw a guy who put a set of 5 1/4 kenwood caoxials in there

now the knwoods are listed as having a 2 1/16" mounting depth an I am worried that if I order my CDT CL-51's which are 2 1/2" That I wont have enough depth.

So If I do have problems would putting say...A 1/2" mdf spacer between the framing and pannel work? Because I want them mounted the same was as that pic.

mounting ring should work, just make sure u seal everything up nicely. anything can be done when u put some work into it. I fit 6.5" IDQ mids with 3" mounting depth into my stock 5 1/4" kick panels....
