need help with damping factor

i never really cared about the damping factor before but now im going with my first ported box and i want this setup to be exact.i have another thread discussing which amp i should go with, an earthquake phd5000 or the new power acoustik Sl5500. the earthquake has a damping factor of 800, can somebody explain how this will affect my setup? 2 15" treo TSX dual4 5cubes ported. thanks
