Need help with Big 3 Upgrade for 1993 Volvo 240

Hi. I just joined caraudio.com today. My friend suggested that I should do the Big 3 upgrade for my 1993 volvo 240. Has anyone done a big 3 upgrade for 1993 volvo 240 or on any old volvos? I need help on locating where the parts are located in the volvo and how to do the big 3 for the volvo. thank you.

basically the BIG 3 is the same on all vehicles...mostly you have to locate your battery, alt (and its + connection), and a no used bolt on the engine block.....follow the STiCKY thread at the top of the forum page in this section on BIG 3 very good tutorial...a short run down though is this.... big 3 is upgrading the wire connections in 3 spots to stabilize the charging system for better volts and less drop....1) battery + to Alt +, 2) battery ground to a spot on the chassis....close and clean connection as possible, 3) a non-used bolt on the block of the engine to chassis ground also clean both areas good and make good connection.. normally big 3 is done with 1/0g wire, but you can get results with 4g wire bc it is bigger then the stock wiring. Also to minimize confusion...you ADD wires to these locations...if the stock ones are corroded or frayed THEN replace with the new wires...otherwise just add to them.....any other questions refer to the BIG 3 sticky... >>> http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152355

oh ya if you need help locating the alt and such....call your local parts dealer (autozone, A&A, advanced auto, etc) they should have in their systems part locations
