No, you wouldn't lose SQ for wiring it into 1 ohm...

Call Chad up at Ascendant, he is a very very helpful guy, and will answer all your questions about his subs...

unfortunatley, ascendant doesn't have specs for the twelve, but from what i've seen from other companies it looks as though the smaller cubic feet for an enclosure, the more you need to power it and the enclosure will be as small as possible.

I cant help on the avalanche but on the atlas smallest sealed is 1ft^3 so I'd say you'd need at least a cube for that sub sealed as well.
