Need help with aux with Pioneer Deh-3500

I went online and bought this auxilarry cable for my pioneer 3500 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PION...1QQcmdZViewItem

I plugged it into in the aux input in the back and then used a y adaptor to plug into my ipod....my manual says to turn on the aux by using the function button...once aux is turned on i can use my source button to get to the auxillary option...i can't turn on the aux function and using source only gets me tuner/cd options

If anyone is familiar with this, i could really use the help...i dont know if i got a bad cable or if i'm missing something...or if the aux option on my pioneer is broken...any suggestions would be helpful...thank you

have you called pioneer? they just may know what to do to help ya out.

I believe you need to do it in the menu or hold down the function button.

On my friends 9300 it was in menu, aux off/on.
