my friend just won an eclipse amp off ebay. so we try it out and it doesnt work, we email the guy who sent us it and he said that the headunit is not sending a strong enough signal to the amp to turn it on. he said to connect the remot wire directly to the + terminal on the battery and use a relay to turn it off. does this make any sense. my friend is using his stock headunit. any different suggestions. connecting to the batt seems like a good way to blow up the amp.

First check the fuse in the amp.Thats a ghetto *** install hooking it staight up. If you hooked the remote up properly from the deck to the amp it should power up.

Thats just the power accessory wire anyway it doest need alot of juice.Check your ground also.

unless the remote wire is shot on the deck, what info did you guys provide him? Did you test teh signal or the remote wire from the hu or right at the amp.Either you guys got something wired up wrong or the amp is shot. Check your ground wire make sure it is nice and tight on metal with no paint. test the signal of your remote wire, and also the signal of your power wire all at the amps. Use a dmm to test them make sure there fine. If all good then the amp would be the problem.
