If you want to retain the factory headunit. You will need a Line Output Converter (~$20) and a run of power wire from the battery to the amp and a ground from the amp to the chassis. You need to run RCA's from the LOC to the Amp.
OK, tried that and smoke rolled from my ebay amp..bad amp? bad install? BTW why does the stock sub have a black red and white wire running to it? I hooked to the black and white and I bet thats a no no.
i also used a line output converter and so far i have had nothing but problems with it, i had a post earlier regarding that might want 2 check it out, shit maybe u can give me some advice
Well its a nice $30 Rockford Fosgate converter, my amp i was hooking up(Punch 250.2) has line level imputs for it but no harness so I tried this converter. Smoke rolled and I didnt even have the REM hooked up on the amp. Just power and ground.
