Here's the setup.

2007 Corvette- Stock Bose headunit w/Nav

Sub- Kicker CompVR 07CVR124 -12", dual 4-ohm voice coil, rated at 50-400 RMS (200 per coil) 800 watts peak- Both voice coils are wired up

Amp- MTX Thunder 600XD - 325 RMS @ 4ohm, 600 @ 2 ohms , 1200 watts peak

Here's the issue.

Everything sounds great at about the middle of the volume "range" on the radio so I leave it there or a little lower. At intermittent times, the sub will just stop firing and you can barely hear it. It just goes from pounding to nothing. It's happenned with it turned a litle louder then normal and it's happenned when it's a little lower then normal. Give it about 5-10 seconds and everything starts sounding normal again. I just listen to metal, hard rock, no rap so I don't think I'm "overworking" the sub at all.

Any ideas on what the problem may be? I don't think I'm feeding it too much power. The gain is at the lower end and the bass boost is turned down too. It's almost like it gets out of sync for something and needs a little bit to get back in line. Could it be a ground wire or other wiring issue?

I had the installation done at a very reputable shop and I'm going to have them look at it but I figured I'm ask the group for some input. Thanks in advance for any help.
