Alright so im a noobie when it comes to amps so i dont know what the hell im doing. I recently just put in 4 new pioneer speakers, a new pioneer deck, a 1000 watt kenwood amp model KAC 929, and a 10-Inch Rockford fosgate punch sub. And when i try to tune the amp to get the sub how i want it I get no output from the sub(the only thing setup to the amp is the sub in stero mode). Everytime i try to set it up in bridged mode the power cord fuse blows. So what do you advise me to do in this situation?

is it ANL or regualr fuses, cause an ANL fuse will almost never blow, while regulars will in a heartbeat.

Not sure what you mean by voice coil. I am trying to connect amp directly to just one 10 inch sub, no coils in between. I am pretty sure the sub is rated at 4 ohms (don't have the specs - picked it up from a friend). I do have a multimeter so I can check resistence, but not sure where to check; your comment about voice coils kinda confused me. Are you assuming I have some sort of coils - I do not. Can I set this up in a non-bridged mode. Thanks for the help.

The voice coil is a part of the sub.

Look to see if you have one or two sets of positive negative on the sub. If you have just one set then it is a single voice coil sub. If you have two sets(a +- is usually on each side of the magnet) that is a dual voice coil sub.

alright got a 60 amp fuse in there and still no go. then i called up a good friend of mine who i thought would know the answer he told me to take the sub out of the box and check how many voice coils there was there was 4 they were routed red to black and red to black. I changed black to black and red to red like he told me to and finally got it to work after that tuned it to my liking and its a go. One last question you think this 1000watt kenwood amp hooked to the punch 10-inch sub my battery will be drained? If so what can I do to fix this?

alright so having yet another problem. Im playing my music amps on subs working good then all of sudden after im driving for lets say around 10 mins the amp turns off for about 10 secs and then back on sounding normal. What do you think the problem is? What im thinking is its draining my battery and shutting itself off. But i wanted to hear some of your opnions.

Kinda sounds like your impedence level is too low for that amp. Does it say on the magnet of the sub dual 4ohm or dual 2? Your friend told you to wire the sub in parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg). I would do what jmac suggested and wire the sub in series ( pos to neg and pos to neg).
