need help setting my gain..

Thanks for the info sacsking.. i have my head unti set at 80hz for my subs and 100hz for my mids.. so i was gonna tune it to 70 hz becuase of that.. if i tuned my gain to 30-40hz would having my head unit tuned at 80hz sound bad?
Im having custom boxes made in the next two weeks so this is just a temporary tune until then.. and i also just want to make sure my amp is at the right voltage becuase i had it in the shop and its always good to be safe u know.

Tuning as in where your settings on your HU and amp are??? or tuning the box? tuning your box to 70-80hz imo would sound like a$s, most people recommend to put the freq on your amp to about 80, i prefer closer to 50, but to each there own ya know. and gain on amps isnt measured in hz, well none that i have had measure it that way. most are measured in preout voltage (on the amp itself), and "tuned" as voltage.

My amp has a Freq Filter on it that i can tune anywhere from 40 to 200Hz.. I was saying that i was going to tune my subs/amp to around 60-70 Hz (not boxes) becuase i have my LPF set to 80Hz on my head unit.. get what i mean? or am i making no sense? sorry lol im pretty new to all this

Your LPF on your HU shouldnt effect your sub out, just your mids and highs

sorry not LPF.. my head unit has a subwoofer 2 setting that lets me set the HZ of my subwoofer.. 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100 Hz, 125Hz all adjustable from -24 to +6
