I just got my profile ap1000m that i am hooking up to two jensen xs-1010. My question is what would i need to set the amps bass boost, low pass, phase, and subsonic filter to to get the most outta my subs. Ive tried to play with to find out what sounds best but i cant find a perfect setting. would someone please look over what i have and let me know what would be best? thanks in advance.

Josh

bass boost
Leave it OFF

Set it to whatever sounds best. Probably be somewhere between 50hz and 85hz. Just find the setting that sounds best to you. There is no definite answer it, and it is totally dependent upon your setup/install/personal preference/etc etc

Again, whatever sounds best, 0 or 180

subsonic filter
If you have a sealed box, either set it to "off" or however low you can...like 20hz or so if possible.

Also, don't forget to follow the gain setting tutorial to properly set your gain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

why do i need to leave the bass boost off?
Because, with a properly set gain, using the bass boost is only going to increase the chance of clipping your amp, and subsequently damaging your subs. If you really want to use the bass boost, then you'll have to decrease your gain to compensate. But you'd be better off just setting the gain correctly and leaving the bass boost alone.

If you are using bass boost, then you would want to set it before you set your gain. You would also need to know what frequency the bass boost was centered at, and use that frequency for the test tone when you set your gain. But, like I said, you'd be better off not using the bass boost (or atleast not much more than 1 or 2db worth).

The SSF, LPF and phase wouldn't need set prior to setting your gain.

You would also want any tone control settings on your HU set before you set your gain.
