HELP!!! i just don't know what amp to get to run my system effieciently. let me start with what i need to power:

1. Focal PolyKevlar 165K

2. JL Audio 10w3

I want an economical amp that will power my system efficiently. what kind of output should i be looking towards? I'm looking towards a 3,4, or 5 channel amp?

if i do 50x4 @ 4ohms rms, will that be too underpowered?

wusup where in bay area u at?

Yes that will be underpowering for the sub. U could grab a 4 chanel amp run the 2 chanels to the speakers then bridge the other 2 channels to ur sub. But it would be hard to get a amp that could power both properly.

Id get a 2 chanel amp that does 80x2 or 100x2 for the focals. They are 100rms if im not mistaken. And then get a 300watt mono amp for the sub.

If ur on a tight budget look at Profile, Us acoustics, JBL

profile, us acous, jbl ?????

focal compo, jl sub = both pretty high sq

Would go for something a bit more pricey..

Octane-R 9.0:5 2 x 125wrms @ 4ohm, 1 x 400w @ 2 ohm

Audisonn SRX2s 2 x 135wrms @ 4 ohm, 1 x 600wrms @ 4 ohm, might be a bit to much couz you would be needing two of those

MTX Thunder 4405 does 2 x 135w and 1 x 300 @ 2 ohm or 4 x 65w and 1 x 150wrms @ 4 ohm

dunno if you would be wanting ur compo running @ 2 ohms

Just to give an indiciation of the prices on the products that would match up with the quality of what you already have.. if you find it to expensive just go with jbl orso but bare in mind that you would be NOT using the quality of ur subs and speakers at a good level

I'm over towards Alameda area.

Well my budget is around 200 hopefully less. i did look into the US Acoustic 4085...which is about 85x4 @ 4ohms rms. i want to stay towards a multi-channel amp. But if there are a great deal for 2 amps that will power effieciently i would jump on it too. i just want to make sure that the output of the amp comes out clean.

What is the EXACT model number of your JL Audio 10W3 ?
10W3-D2

10W3-D4

10W3-D6

10W3v2-D2

10W3v2-D4

10W3v2-D6

This would REALLY help with amplifier recommendations because UNLESS you have the 10W3-D2 or 10W3v2-D2, you cannot bridge it off most 4-channel amplifiers ...

I have the 10W3d2
