Hi i currently have a stock setup. I was planning on getting an eq to make the music clearer, since i cant change the hu.(mazda6 big custom job)do u think this is a good idea?if so which eq should i get?also will be replacing all of my speakers and adding a couple of subs.

I don't understand why you can't get your HU replaced with an aftermarket. But I would start off with new speakers, perhaps CDT, Focal, Arc, Rainbow, mb Quart (harsh but you may like em), and many many others but you will need an amp to power them. A budget would really help us out.

i can but will have too cut a whole in my dash or mount it in my glove box. the mazda6 dash is all intergated. i decided to add an equalizer for now and later when the dash kit comes out, i will by a headunit.

as far as my experience goes, an equalizer's not gonna give you clearer sound...

maybe "customized to my liking" is what you mean, but clearer???

you would be better off finding someway to mount a headunit with a built in eq. a new headunit will make it easier to add amps, and the cost will be the same as an eq.

but what do you mean when you say clearer? what artificats are there that you'd conclude the sound isn't clear? like is there some annoying hiss/whine or something? there could be other factors.
