Need help match subs with amp

I currently own a kicker cx 600.1 amp from my old setup which no longer fits into my new g37 coupe. The new subs I am currently looking at are the Skar Audio VD-8's, I will be getting 2 of them, so I was wondering since they are rated at 400 watts rms each and the amp is only rated at 600 watts rms, would it be alright to match these up or could it damage my amp from driving it too hard?

Also any other suggestions for 8 inch subs would be great, preferably around $60-$70 a woofer, I know Amazon sells stuff cheap.

Thank you!

No. An amplifier puts out a certain amount of power. As long as you stay within the amplifiers limits you will be fine. You could put a 2500 watt sub on the amp and feed it 600 watts. The amp will still only produce it's 600 watts regardless of the speaker you put on it. You introduce distortion by trying to overdrive the amplifier into clipping. The subs have nothing to do with the amplifier and creating distortion/clipping. Distortion and clipping is user error and not understanding how to properly set up a system.
