I have a cavalier, which has 4x6's in the front and 6x9's in the back. I can fit 6 1/2's in both, just for reference (according to crutchfield).
However, speakers with big magnets (such as the polk MOMO series) won't fit. I was looking to buy from crutchfield, and these are the brands they have
I'd like to spend about 300 for both front and back, so comps are out (i don't want those cheesy ones) but it's also flexible, so it doesn't have to 300 or bust.
The types of speaker they have:
Polk db series- havent heard these, but i've heard Polk's home audio. Kick ***! I could also get the MOMO 5 1/4 comp set, yet they're 269,99, which is very pricey for me! Plus it means i'd need possibly 2 amps, one for the sub and one for both front and back...
Infinity Reference and Kappa (Ref's for the front, Kappas for the back) the front speakers sound tinny but the back 6x9's were mind blowing. Is their a way to make the treble go down on the front speakers (theyd be the Infinity Reference 6012si or the Infinity Reference 5010cs, which are comps, which would allow me to put the tweeter somewhere were it wouldn't be so tinny)
Boston Acoustics S65RC shallow mount 6 1/2's. Haven't heard them before, but i hear their good, however on crutch they got a 3.5 star rating with 6 reviews
I don't have a lot of options obviously, but i'd like something that sounds good. I like clear highs (who doesn't), good warm mids, and moderate bass response (i'm getting a sub too- any recommendations on that? I don't have much space so it'd probably need to be a 1 10" DVC) So far i'm pretty much leaning on infinity- they 6x9's kicked ***, but the front leaves a lot to be desired- and one final note...I'm a basshead! Thanks!
Finally- I'm a noob. Don't confuse me with technical terms!!
