Before you install your new sub, you might need to check your gains on your amp to see if they are up too high.

will do...any advice one where they should be set at? Im using this with 2005 honda accord ex-l stock H/U.

From this, it sounds like you need to buy a sub that can handle more than 1,000w.......

ya...what i dont understand is peak power on the woofer that blew was 2000 watts, with 1000 watt rms.

Can a woofer go bad from sitting for years and years with no use?
