Need help for power wiring

guess the better question is exactly how much power to plan on pushing? i know i am going to be running 2 amps, an 800 watt 4 channel kenwood (35-40 rms a speaker) and a sundown 1500 (750 rms a speaker) and i almost have no choice but to go with the 0 gauge back. that is what I would do. run a 0 gauge wire to a distro and go from there.

well i m using 2 hifo 2608 with btl

RMS Power Rating:

4 ohms: 850 watts x 1 chan.

2 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan.

1 ohm: 2600 watts x 1 chan

so according to that o gauge from battery to distro is fine & 4 gauge from distro to amp

yes should be fine. if you start having power problems, get a good second battery and use that has the distro block instead of buying one.

I am going to be honest with you man, i think the rca's I am using are streetwire RCA's some people swear that good RCA's make a difference.. I haven't ever noticed a difference AT ALL (street wire is decent stuff, but not top of the line if you will)! with that being said, look on ebay. KnuKonceptz have good amp kits. and so does kicker. all included with the 1/0 gauge wire, distro block, inline fuse, ground wires etc. search ebay with key words: 0 gauge wire

you will see tons of results for good deals on amp kits. in fact, im about to buy me one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just a little secret!! go to a welding supply place and buy arch welder power cable. it is much cheaper and you will get better current. the strands in the welder cable are thinner it also makes bends really easy. (very flexable)

this is very true. in fact i called our local welding shiop today dude quoted me just a little bit over 2 bucks a ft. for that fine cut 1/0 wire. gonna go down there and get some thjis weekend to do the big 3 on my car. though with one of those 50+$ amp kits you can a distro if you need one, in line fuse (where would you find a **** 1/0 in line fuse otherwise) power terminals etc. etc.

4 gauge from a distro block to his amp would be too small? hes talking about running 1/0 to a distro and running 4 gauge.. maybe your right, 2 gauge sound better? as far as i have seen distro that go from 1/0 inputs have only 4 gauge outputs.. ones i have seen at least

lol question man. you really need all those batteries/HO alt etc. to push that one type x? just wondering cuz I am about to buy 2 cvx 12" kickers and have them pushing off of a sundown 1500. 90 amp stock alt, stock bat. i was thinking all i needed is an extra battery, deep cycle. probably go with a power master or kinetic. your rms power will be similiar to what I am pushing but your power output ability is ALOT higher than man. realy necessary?
