Its been about 17 years since I was heavily into systems and competing and last year I got the bug back after installing a nice little system in my sons Blazer. Now I went and bought a 2015 GMC Sierra quad cab and want to upgrade. Sound quality is important.
So far I have purchased a JL Audio 10TW3-D4 sub and a JL Audio XD700/5v2 5-channel amp.
My plan is two sets of coax speakers for the doors and unsure which to buy. $500+/- is what Im looking to spend. I have had Alpine, JL, MB Quart Q series, Memphis M Class components and now Polk in my sons Blazer. Having a hard time picking a speaker.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Memphis M Class components since they were good to me in the past but being away for so long there is something else I should look into.
Should I do components in the front and put the tweeter in the dash where there are speakers now or stick with coaxs and do an extra set of speakers in dash and run off the radio?
Also everywhere I look I'm being told 8 ga power wire will be more than enough for what I'm doing. Is that accurate? I'm almost 40 and won't be changing amps or adding a wall of subs in the future. Had Stinger wires in the past and never had a problem. Most likely will go with their wires again.
Almost forgot the head unit will be a Pioneer AVIC8100NEX 7" Capacitive Touchscreen
Any insight would be appreciated.
