Old alpine amp finally died on me and now I am looking to get a new 1000 watt amp stable at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. The guy at a car audio place I went to showed me a Hertz 1000 hdp1 but was pretty pricey at 599 and I do not know much about the hertz amps and if they are worth the money. I have also been looking at the sundown SAX 1200d which is cheaper at about 400 but I dont have any experience with sundown either. I only have about 16 inches of mounting space for the amp to fit in where my old amp was. Do you guys have any opinions on these amps or maybe suggestions of other amps I should look at? It will be pushing two 10s at about 500 rms each.
