Im having a difficult time finding a ported box made for my kicker. I bought a qpower vented box off of amazon recommended for the sub. I had a company install my sub in the vented box at 2 ohms running 600rms and it isnt nearly as loud as it should be. It sounds like i have really nice 6x9s. Also the trunk on my bmw is very deep. Im sure that plays a role also. If anyone could help me i would appreciate it! Thank you

well your not going to get great from that sub.

the ONLY WAY to get the best sound out of that sub is get a box made just for that sub. @CSCStang will make you one.

Kicker doesnt have premade boxes for them? And no offense to cscstang but he wants 200$ for a box for one 12 and i could buy the sub with a box together for 200$..

go to the local audio places around you and get quotes for a custom enclosure and you'll see how crazy prices can get. Also think about shipping prices from california to the east coast.

If price is an issue, build your own box its not that hard even without proper cutting tools, go to home depot, have them make the cuts for you, glue and screw then have a friend/relative with a jigsaw to cut the hole for you. That hifonics amp doesnt do much actual power either, should have gotten a D2 sub.

I see this issue all the time people spend ridiculous money on their car audio components and refuse go that last step to pay for a quality enclosure. Its not just 6 walls screwed and glued. A lot of detail seen and unseen goes into my enclosures(even in a basic box) in the end you'll get what you pay for a cheap box will get you down the road INITIALLY but it will catch up with you when your amp blows it apart or you find out all the money you spend on your setup is being restricted by an improper enclosure. Any NEW enclosure you find for 125.00 or less will be made from the cheapest materials and fastest production to make a profit at that price point. Your better off making your own enclosure from recommended plans if money is tight it might not look good but at least it will sound good and thats the goal at the end of the day.
