Well Power is unlimited... I can buy any amp to match the sub i get...

I just have never heard 8s... Im not sure what one 8w7 would sound like or compare to.

would a 8w7 = 2 JL 10w1s? ...

no it doesnt sound the same as two 10's, surface area and physics alone dictate that.

Really though, since it sounds like you're not decided on what direction you should go, id not spend the cash on a 8w7 at all. Get a used 10" sub so you dont have to pay retail price, and if you dont like it you can alwyas sell it and get something else...

It sounds like you're in an expiermentation stage of equipment ownership, and you should really get "something" first then work up to something else better or more applicable later.. but you dont know until you try something first, even if its not totally the right answer right at this moment.

Well... Expermenting with this new car and small areas to work with... YES...

But Car audio not really... I have has from age 16 to now- 2 JBL 10s - 2 MTX12s -3 12w6s -4 10w0s - 2 L7 12s... The most watts I have had is runnign about 2500.

Thats a lil background info. By no means am I a Guru tho.

I have had a few systems.... but never had sized problems in the past 3 cars I have had.

I like the Fi SSD idea. Try the flatwound coil option and put 1000 watts on it and go from there.

Fi btl. http://www.ficaraudio.com. hand put togather when you choose the options on there site. people on here have good condtion ones for around $300-$400 that they didnt alot.

they wont sell you a 10" btl if its going to be used in a musical application.

I am selling an Atomic Quantum 10. It will take 600 watts and is a very good sounding, powerful sub. It was going in my wife's car, but she changed her mind for some reason. I am asking $200 plus shipping for it.

I am not positive, but I think Scott said there are only a small handful of loaded BTL 10's out there.

Meaning Fi Car Audio does not feel their 10" version of the BTL is best used in daily applications, as in normal music and listening.
