I am in process of installing everything on my vehicle..

now when I was about to run all of the wires under the carpet.. I ran into this issue.. I took off all of the floor trim pieces with no problem.. EXCEPT for this one.. it is the one between the rear seat and front seat..

It seems like I will have to remove the driver's seat in order to get this trim piece off?

Hope the picture helps.. look at the trim piece on the bottom of the B pillar

any fellow explorer owners here? if so please chime in!

Help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

I'll try that..

Also if you own an 3rd gen explorer, then where the hell did you run your power wire behind the pedals??

I dont see any visible firewall grommet except for one which is more of in the middle?

Let me know, thanks

Naw it wont go thru, tried that already
I had the same problem. I tried using solid fence wire to prod for a path and found one. I had to lift the bottom of the pillar a few inches out of place and got it.

This should work, just try again with solid wire if you have it.

I will go out and try that..

what about firewall up in front? where did you run your power wire into the cabin? from the engine bay

look for the clutch stamp for the power wire, its where the clutch would be if you had a manual. Unless you have a manual.

You should be able to remove some of the cloth material and find the punchout.

you got the plastic inner fenders right.....just pull it out drill a hole into that area grommet it and run the wire thru the grommet and into (if you have to drill one into the cabin) the cabin thru a grommet....

If I remember correctly, your going to have to pop the top trim panel off first. Or at least the bottom of it because I think it is tied into the piece you are trying to remove.

Once you get that taken care of, your going to need to remove the seat belt bolt at the bottom of the trim panel. If you push your seat all the way forward and then look in from the rear door, you can use a torx to remove it. Afterwards, the panels should pop off.

As for your firewall and where to run a cable; I drilled a hole and put a firewall grommet in, does its job perfectly.
