Could someone please help me figure out what is wrong with my subwoofer. Just recently it has started making a lot popping sound when the volume is all the way up and over the course of about an hour it got noticeably worse. I took the sub out of the enclosure and played it only to discover the same sound only more consistent and at lower volume. When I press down on the cone I can hear something scraping but don't see what it is. I will try to upload videos of the noise. Can I just use youtube.com?

Yep theres defintly damage, its probably hitting the magnet @ higher volume. Sorry to hear:crap:

If its new just take back to where you got it should still be under warranty!!

Check out the videos ^^^^^^^ and tell me what you think

I just bought fresh from a recone less than 2 months ago. I guess its not covered under warranty, but recone kits are only $85.

A recone would fix this if its just blown, right?

Its sounds like the voicecoil is hyperextended, meaning its functional but its extending on every hit. How much did you originaly pay?? It looks like a badass woofer by the way!

I would venture to guess its gone beyond its XMAX, new speaker or recone. I guess 85 is not too bad but ask if they have an extened warranty or any warranty on the reconing.
