Need help deciding what to do about a box

I have one sa-12 and was gonna get a box built for it.. but then my friend called me asking if I would take his unused 12 box because it is too big to fit under the back seats of his truck. So I got a Bass Slammer bs112v ported and tuned to 38hertz. The sheet that came with the sub recommends 35 and I keep hearing low 30's..

1. Will the sa do good in this box? height: 15-1/4", W 20-1/4", 1.75cu and 38 hertz

2. Is the few hertz higher tuning really gonna be noticable?

it may be a bit louder tuned to 38, but won't play as low. if you have the opportunity to try it and see, try it, and see!

My box is tuned to 39 Hz and by no means does it murder the lows. It's definitely noticeable.

ahhh ****, well I'll just have another box built to do the test. what is a good tune to compare to the 38 that i already have? 33 hertz for the new box?
