need help decided subs for new setup

I am lookin for a new setup to get louder then my old one... which is 2 sa-12s on 1200watts.

I was considering either 1 hdc3 18 or 2 15s. I'm not sure which one will get louder, or if you have suggestions for other subs around the same price that would be helpful to. thanks

those subs can handle more than just 1200w. try putting more power into them. i'm sure you can get into the 1800w to 2000w area

i say get a 2kw amp for the SA 12's and if you want louder than go ahead with the hdc3's. a new amp for them would prolly end better as well

Yeah, you still have room for growth. You will need a new amp (and better electrical, dont forget this) to push the bigger subs anyway. I say go ahead and try the SAs off of more power and if you still want more then you can get the HDCs. But keep in mind, a pair of HDCs will take 3k pretty easily, while the SAs will not.

If you cant afford a much larger amp, batteries, etc then you can upgrade to two SA-15s. Probably the most economical choice as far as price to gain goes.

Edit - Re-reading and it looks like your SAs are gone. Ideas above still apply though.

i've heard nothing but good things from obsidian audio. not as good as sundown but they put out their own fair share of power
