whats the smallest box size can two fi q 12's be put in tuned to 38 and sound good ? or would i be better off just getting one and put it in 2.5 cubes ?

Can you give them 2.5-3 cubes net after displacements? If so tune them to 34-35 and give em hell!!!!

You could see about some DC lvl3s with upgraded coils too just another option if you haven't bought already.

nope,i havnt bought anything yet.wont be till next month.would two level 4's still get low in 3 cubes if they share the same air space ?

according to DC's site, they are recommended 1.5cubes each ported. so I think they should do fine. You'll also get great customer service with DC too. Fi....meh

you could also look into getting customs built from SPLaudio

i know.my d6 is 1.25 recommended ported and i like it in 2.3 cubes ported.huge difference.it just doesnt have enough azz for sustained periods of my required listening level. beings how the fi q is supposed to kick a d6's azz i was assuming they could probably still out perform my d6 in a smaller enclosure but idk cause i have never owned one.if car audio was cheaper than it is,it would be alot simpler to buy a sub and if you didnt like it,it wouldnt be a great loss like upwards of $300 a piece.

which is why I recommended the SPLaudio customs. just tell him your intentions (power, box size, goals) and he'll make the right setup for you. Also with your space, you could look into a single 15.

I even had an 18" Fi Q sealed in about 4-4.5 cubes (the minimum requirements on their site at the time) and it was decent but i could tell it could do more. I've heard good things about DC subs in minimum space boxes though. At any rate, with 3 cubes and 2kwrms, I'd look at the DC lines or a custom sub (if you really wanna do 2 12s). I could be missing something though.

thanks,i appreciate your honesty and it sounds like the q's are out of the question with my limited space then.i might just do the level 4's and call it a day.ive been doing so much research in the last 6 weeks on subs im allmost sick of it.its hard to decifer from the truth and the bs lol

its hard to tell man because most everyone will swear their ish is loud when in actuality it ***** cuz its not set up right.

If you really like Fi subs, you can do a Fi Q single 15 though. I'm sure others may know of some other things that can work for you. I havent done much research into subs at all lately.
