I have a set of Infinity Kappa 60.7cs for the front of my car and I am in need of a solid set of 6x9's to pair them with in the back. The Alpine PDX-4.100 will be powering them and is rated at 100 RMSx4 at 2 or 4 ohms so I'm assuming I can choose a set of 4 ohm 6x9's even though the 60.7cs' are 2 ohms.

I've been looking at the Infinifty Kappa 693.9i's which are around $115 on Amazon plus tax + free shipping.

I've also been looking at the Kenwood KFC-6982ie's which are around $70 no tax + free shipping.

I'm sure there are better 6x9's but from what I've see from these two, I like the frequency responses, the rms ratings to go with the amp, and also the sensitivity db's. They seem like comparable speakers but the Kenwoods are a lot cheaper.

Help!!! Also anybody recommend another set of 6x9's in this price range that are similar specs?

Ditch those Kenwoods. Checkout the Boston Acoustic SR95's. They can be had for $140 shipped.
^this

Do you have personal experience with them?
I have experience with the smaller Boston SR speakers as well as most of Boston's lineup. I have the SR65s on my golf cart on the Alpine PDX 5 Channel and I just had it out yesterday ALL DAY. Pretty much full tilt at the show and they were cool. I had the Boston SE's rated at 35wrms iirc and ran 175wrms to each in my car and they took it fine.

They're only 75 rms, 2-ways, and sensitivity is lower than the Kappa's.
Don't worry about rms ratings - music is too dynamic

2 ways vs 3 ways is something commonly misconstrued when it comes to coaxials. 2 ways can/will sound just as good or better than 3 ways. There are some mindblowing 2 ways out there.

Sensitivity, as far as I know, is not derived the same way from each manufacturer so I tend to ignore that as well. Also, you can also do some level matching from the amp if you need to so no biggie there.

So 17 people voted Other but only 1 person made a suggestion on an alternative pair of speakers in that price range?

I'm not asking for anyone to loan me the money, just for some opinions...

Pioneer TS-D6902R, may want to take a look at them.

Other than that, stick with the Kappas. They'll match your fronts and will still have a decent amount of midbass.

If you like Infinity You should check out JBL. They're from the same parent company, but the speakers are different. The GTO938 is the low cost 6x9 from the Grand Touring Series, and step up with a separate crossover module is the Power Series, model P963.

Thank you for your input. It would seem there is about 30 lazy people that couldn't even bother to type a Brand and Model No. for me, yet decided to vote Other Please Specify....
