need help buying a sub

I keep seeing stuff about people having sub's built? What is all that about? All I know are these main brands of sub's like jl and pioneer. I want something that's gna have a loud but clean sound to it. Any direction would b much appreciated

Also, I know you say loud and clean, but do you really want Sound Quality, or do you want it to rattle your eyes out of your head? Because around here (not mainstream audio) you can get the eye rattling effect of sub woofers for around $170 a sub.

plenty of subs in the market that can do what you ask already. However if you need a custom sub made, @Zeuslicious ; and @SPLaudio ; are the guys to do it.
