Need help building box for 2 10" perfects

Hey, i have seen threads about two subs before, and i have some questions. My main question is should the subs share a chamber and have only one port, or should they have separate chambers and a port on each sub? On the threads i have read previously, people said it didn't matter to have them share a chamber, but i don't understand how that doesn't make a difference. Wouldn't each sub feel like it is in a box twice as big? Any help is appriciated.

i'm not sure WHY exactly each sub in a shared chamber box only sees half of internal volume, but it does...

Thanks, i think they will. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I just used a program for slot built boxes, and the slot area is nearly the size of the rest of the box. One of the reasons i wanted the perfects is they use a very small (1 cube) ported box. So i need to figure out what size port to use. I have a 4" port laying around, maybe that will work.

It is so weird how they see the same volume.

hmm your slot area shouldn't be as big as the area the sub sees... the 10's should have about 3 cubes for the pair ported... right?

it comes out to a HUGE box. are the tube ports that bad? In a tube ported box, i would just build it 24 x 13.5 x 13.5 which would be two cubes, and throw a port in there. It would be nearly two thirds the size. Thanks for the help!

That caculator sucks.I've had it say make the box 1,000" + deep and to use 40 + sheets of MDF.....pathetic.

yeah, it does that for me, too. So anyone have any help? If it really doesn't make much difference to share a chamber, can it share a port, too?

i've heard that cancellation is possible with shared chambers, as far as sharing a port, i think thats possible as well, although i'm not sure how you would share a round port if you had seperate chambers.

I meant sharing a port if the chamber was shared. I will probably do separate chambers and pvc pipe for ports in each chamber.
