Help mofos! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

asus motherboard , corsair ddr3 ram , amd phenom 2 quad or six core , and ati graphics cards.

i believe tiger direct has a barebones kit for 599 that is pretty sweet , my brother was talking about buying it this week.

i will see if i can send a link to it

meh, you can do better for the money, and there's no way in hell I'd ever touch ATI. Nvidia all the way baby //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And Intel > AMD, even though my laptop runs AMD...

To the OP, about a year ago I built a budget gaming comp for probably less than $500 total. CPU was something like 2.7ghz dual core, I have it overclocked to 3.5, 8gb of ram, and an 8800GTX graphics card. The card was less than 100, I believe the cpu and mobo were less than 200, ram is cheap as hell (I think like 50 bucks for all of it), PSU was maybe $40. Then you just need all your odds and ends like a harddrive (1TB is only $50 these days), a dvd burner, etc. If your going to overclock make sure you look into an aftermarket cpu cooler. Cheap ones can be had for less than $20 and they cool 10x better than the stock ones.

Oh and i know nothing about oveerclocking but dont want to ruin my shiz,

You should just buy a Dell if you don't know anything about computers
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsdown.gif.d22f25895e9b40f2300c953691dacfa2.gif that's not the DIY spirit

there are plenty of resources online that will guide you how to do it and do it right. just like any other hobby, you're probably going to have to do a lot of research first, and learn by trial and error. i've built a desktop before; it's a fun and rewarding process (too bad all of Bertha's components are obsolete now). i don't know what made you decide to ask here though lol

I know my computers well, and there's nothing wrong with ATI, people just have there preferences. And intell and nvidia are WAY over PRICED , AMD is good as well. But you don't need six core processor, you won't use all the processor's in the first place. I have this processor and it's plenty for what I do (gaming, watching movies and etc.) your download is only on how fast your DSl, or cable internet is. Not the computer, if your burning music that just depends on how nice your CD-Rom is

Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

I would prefer this processor it's extremely fast and can run multiple programs at once without a problem. I would run 4gb ddr3 ram pick some out after you find out what board you want. Make sure everything fits, it's easy to do so. And it's easy to build it and make it work, package deals are good just really matters what you want.. And no you have to build it when it comes packaged like that. And I don't know of a company that builds it for you.

And stay away from Dell, I would prefer asus for pre built comps, you can eve find good deals on comps at dealnews.com they find great deals on comps that are pre built
