Need help balancing stages!

What I really need is advise on mid bass drivers and components that "fit" with my subs. I know that with my sub stage being 1700 watts the sound is going to be a bit bass heavy either way I'm just trying to balance it out. I've already bought a hifonics 2000.4 to power my components and mid bass drivers. I don't plan on using all of the watts but I want it there in case I change my mind. I want to stay all pioneer as I have a thing for things matching. I already have two sets of ts-1604c but was going to ditch those in favor of ts-d1720c. I was also thinking of using ts-sw841d as mid bass drivers. Basically I was thinking two sets of components and two of the sw841d's. Obviously the amp could support double that but I'm leaving that as a possible future expansion. I do have two questions concerning the sw841d's. First, do they make good bass drivers and second, should they be free air or in an enclosure. Please be sensitive to the fact I'd like to stay all pioneer. However, I welcome non pioneer suggestions so long as you have solid reasoning. Thanks for the help.

how will you be setting up xover points for the midbass speakers?

Right now I am running my subs at 30-100 because I'm hoping to get a little more range in terms of bass. When everything is in place I was thinking Sub=30-80, mid bass 70-300, mids=250-3000, and tweeters take the rest. The amp has a few cross over settings and the components come with a fixed crossover I believe. I was going to add an adjustable crossover to replace the fixed ones.

I was thinking the over lap of stages would be good. Am I wrong in assuming that?

Overlapping of the stages can create a bump at a certain frequency point which can alter the sound. Good or bad just depends on your ears

I guess I'll try it out at those settings and tweek them as necessary. Will those subs work as a mid bass drivers or am I headed in the wrong direction
