Need Help...Bad Whine

I need some advice. I have some engine noise in my door speakers. I have tried grounding the head unit and it still is there. I have changed ground wires for my amp from the battery to the car and still there. How do I get rid of this and what other things can I try? It only comes on when I start the car. I also know it is not the head unit because I just switched from a Pioneer to a brand new Kenwood and it is still there.

Yes I have done the searching and tried all options I have found

how do I knowThe rcas are pretty new and it sounded find up until I changed amps

gains are only 1/2
Some amps are more sensitive than others, and need an excellent ground source. You could very well have an issue with the amp?Not grounding properly

What brand/model are the RCA's? I recently had some bad alt whine because I used reeeeally cheap RCA's (ok technically they were component video cables, haha). Replaced them with shielded ones from Knukonceptz and the noise was gone.

Could be RCA's....your alt. etc

I have alt whine myself. And it doesn't go away.

You won't know the root cause until you start troubleshooting and trying things out. I'd start with swapping things 1st before going out and buying new audio.

Also do things like, disconnect the rca's from your amp and connect an RCA/3.5mm headphone jack cable from your phone so you can supply a different source. If the noise goes away you know it's upstream (RCA's or headunit). If the noise remains you know it's downstream (amplifier, speaker wire, or possibly alternator itself via the amplifier).

You can also swap the left and right channels of the current rca's if the noise is only coming through on one channel like mine was. When I swapped the sides the noise moved too, which told me it was either the RCA's or Headunit and not the speaker wire as I had suspected.

Bottom line is you're going to have to do some detective work on your own, none of us are going to be able to fix the problem via the internet. :p
