ive never been able to get my 9800BT to automatically connect to any of my phones. ive been able to do it with my buddy cingular phone. has anyone done it with a verizon phone? i always have to manually connect mine everytime i start the car. so its not even worth it unless im taking a long trip.

also, everytime i try to transfer the phonebook, the bluetooth link disconnects. any ideas whats going on here?

the phones ive tried this with are Moto E815, LG vx8600, and my current LG vx8300. all with verizon service

you have to seach for the phone via the headunit not via the phone............

once found, then go into your phone settings and set as an authorized device.

this has worked with everyphone i have had.

i couldn't get the bluetooth audio to work butt

Probably wont link up with any verizon phone. Same thing applies for the garmin gps that we carry. No verizon phone will link up to them either...
i can link it with no problem. i just cant get it to automatically link whenever i turn the car on.

this will make it automatically link? i dont really have an option on my phone to set it as an authorized device. the only thing close to that is "incoming security" in which i can set it to "always ask" or "always connect", but when i try always connect it still wont automatically connect.

the deck is supposed to automatically disconnect when you transfer the phonebook. You have to manually send each individual contact to the deck through your phone.
It ****ing sucks.
that makes no sense. why would it have an option to transfer the phone book that doesnt even do anything?

Verizon takes a lot of functions out of their phones. It will not transfer the phone book or auto connect. I had a big pissing match with them because they told me the phone had full blue tooth capability. It's like walmart the products arent as good so they can sell them for less or make more profit. The same phone at cingular/att&t will tran ph book and auto con.

I am thinking about getting this head unit as well, but I don't know if my phone will connect automatically to it. Does anyone know where I can find the compatibility list for cell phones? I looked on Pioneer's website and found the user manual, but couldn't find it anywhere in there. I have the Motorola ic902 for Sprint/Nextel. Kinda makes the bluetooth function retarded if it doesn't automatically connect......

well i got my phone book transfered. and yes you have to do it through the phone (and not through the deck) and also yes u hafta do it 1 by 1. still cant get the auto connect working. do verizon phones auto connect to any other bluetooth decks? i mean it auto connects to my motorola earpiece so i dont see why i couldnt auto connect to a deck.
