Need amp recommendation and other info please

Hi, I'm not very informed as far as car audio goes, so I have a few questions.

I'm looking at buying this sub, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13595 and will need to buy an amp to power it. Now it says it can run on 1 or 4 ohms, but I have no idea what the difference would be if it ran on 1 compared to 4. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I also could use some amp recommendations as I don't have a ton of money and would rather not rip myself off by finding out after I order something that seems nice to me that there was a much better deal elsewhere.

I'm looking at 1 15" sub. My brother wrecked my 96 Breeze and I now have a 98 Eclipse and wanted to have some trunk space, so I figured I'd go with 1 15 instead of the 2 12s I have to save some room. Plus it'd be a huge upgrade considering I only have 2 JL Audio W0s (piece of crap).

Edit: is this thing any better? I'm about to go read around here quick

brahma. could possibly be selling mine. got another guy interested in it though. do a search for brahma. for specs go to http://www.adire.com my price is pretty similar to that one you just posted.

all the ohm stuff is about flexibility in matching subs to amps. a single dual 4 ohm sub can be wired to 8 ohms or 2 ohms. this means you should look for an amp that does the power you need at 2 ohms. a 2 ohm dvc can be wired at 1 ohm or 4 ohms. again you match an amp up at either 1 or 4 ohms

I see the enclosers built for those Brahmas are pretty darn expensive.

What kind of setup are you running (or did run) with them and what am I looking at price wise? I see the sub is listed at $439.

if this other deal falls through i can give you a sweet deal on a 15 with box. i got plenty of refs. are you more of an spl type or an sq type? i had nearly 1500 watts rms going to this and it handled it with no sweat. these also work well with less power. i also think brahmas are backoredred till march.
