I'm 100% car audio beginner. I'm in the middle of putting together a beginner/budget system. I'm not looking for anything extravagant, just solid and reliable. A friend of mine is going to help me install everything once I have everything I need. For now I'm going to stick with the stock speakers, just wanting to add a

Here's what I have as of now:

Car: 2002 Mazda Protege 5

HU: Kenwood kdc-mp205

Box: QLogic QB2102 Dual 10" Bandpass Box

Subs: 2 Polk Audio EX-10's

So I need recommendations for an amp. I don't know anything about matching amps to subs at all. Like zero, so help me out. I'd like to spend $100 or less if possible.

The subs you have are 150 watts rms each and are 4 ohm. You want an amp (mono block would be easiest to hook up right) that is 300 rms at 2 ohm.

My first amp was a kenwood. They are cheap and mine got abused tons and it is still kicking. It's went into protect mode more times than that boxer Butterbean.

You can look at something like that one. It's only a hundred bucks, 150 watts per channel at 4 ohm and thats what your subs are. just hook up each sub to one channel.

It's cheap but you'll probably be upgrading soon anyway. If you're like me you'll always want more power no matter what //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you could get a 4 channel and then bridge the channels for both subs. this would be nice because when you upgrade subs, you could still use the amp for your mids and highs.
this amp would work well with those subs

I'm not sure I will upgrade subs. I'm not looking for a huge system. I haven't heard these subs yet, but I would say I'm more likely to upgrade the mids and highs. I'm not a bass freak, I just want a well balanced sound.
