Need a sub suggestion for this Kicker amp!! :

any particular model ?

also, I'm told that running a sub at 4ohms is better, because there will be no distortion, and nice deep pounding bass... true ?

Or maybe a Memphis PR or MC subwoofer...would work well w/200-400w rms, at least my PR and MC 12s did fine off of 350-400rms PORTED and never had any issues w/them. Sound better than Kicker as well, in general and also get pretty loud. In my experience anyway...

But Kicker, maybe certain Pioneer subs, etc would do alright in that power range..

Not true. Running that amp at 2 ohms doubles your power with very litttle increase in distortion if any at all. I would look for a sub that is a dual 4 ohm that can work well with 400 watts. How much space do you have and how much are you willing to spend. A good ported box would be your best bet for deep pounding bass with 400 watts. You could also do a two sub setup as well.

the memphis and kicker already reccomended will work great. and 400 watts is 400 watt at 4 ohms or 2 ohms there is no difference. but you'll want to run your amp at 2 ohms so you can get the full power out of it.

What are you ultimately looking for out of your subwoofer? Also, how large of an enclosure did you want to use?

Right now there are a TON of drivers that would work for you ... just trying to narrow it down a little bit. A budget would really help. Also, do you want any specific size - 8", 10", 12", 15", 18" ?

I went to a local audio shop today, during their 30% off everything anniversary sale and picked up this sub and box to go along with it... i will run it on the kx700.5 :

you should have read about wiring subs before buying. you bought a dual 2 which can only be wired to 1 or 4 ohms. if i were you i would try to return/trade it back for a dual 4 ohm so you can run your amp at 2 ohms.

x2, you need a dual 4 ohm woofer...

I don't know how it sounds because I still need to buy 4 gauge wires //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and a warm garage to get crackin

I just installed everything, and it pounds like crazy!! I only have the volume on my Pioneer deck set to 14 out of a possible 30 max volume level, and it makes my ear drums hurt.
