Nubee? Kicker CVR12 or Alpine TypeR12 in Small Sealed Box

Guys i know this topics been brought up often, but im still confused. I just bought

Pheonix Gold XENON 400.1 Im looking at either the Kicker CVR 12 or the Alpine Type R12. Which one would work better over all in a small sealed box(1 cubic ft). Im not to picky with SQ or SPL just want decent over all bass. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

My sugjestion would be neither. Scheibler is right the Alpine like to be ported. The downside to kicker (almost there entire line) is that they require allot of air space!!! I had 1x 10" CVR in a 1.0 cu ft box and the the fmax (frequency it hit hardest) was around 160hz and would cut out at 60hz. So most rap or r&b songs it wouldnt pick up on the hard hitting bass. Which was completely unacceptable to me at leaste. So i would sugjest going with something that is optimal in that air space and power range. Maby look into the Rockford series. They normally don't require so much air space. But if you are set to having either of the 2 you listed i would go with the kicker but realize you won't be getting as deep of bass as you could with another sub.

contrary to belief ^^^, they will work fine small sealed, doing the Kicker CVX 10's myself, output shows to be the same in .75 cuft uop to 1.25, so doing .75 cu ft on the Kicker CVX 10's..900 watts each x 3
