3000 watts on 500 is possible with some used stuff, but I doubt anything new would do rated power. Dont let the shop fool you into stupidity, and please dont purchase a cap. Get a battery. But in my opinion I say get a Kicker 2500, Sundown 3000D, AQ2200 or something that does rated power. Good choice on subs, perfer those over the L5 and L7'sout of my price range. my limit is like 500
well i havent ordered them yet. im waitin to see yall answer my ?Maybe i missed it but I have yet to see him post the VC impedences of his subs. If they are dual 4 ohm he will be at either 2 ohms or a half an ohm and if they are dual 2 ohms he can get it to 1 ohm.http://www.brilliant-electronics.com/car_amplifiers_crunch_gp3000dpro.htm
Pretty good amp for the money and does at least close to rated power at least (some say over)+ a lot of respected DB drag guys on termpro.com seem to like them as well. Some place is also selling them for 449 shipped. Just make sure you know what you are doing when you set it up..the more power you have the easier it is to burn stuff up and if you get to that point you are going to want a good warranty.

I've bought some L7's for my brother that were Factory re-newed from Hifi Sound Connection and I was dissappointed in the build quality of the woofers. There was Black CA glue all over the spiders and back of the cone. It was purely cosmetic but still.well the earthquake amp didnt fall threw, so looks like sundown or kicker...unless i come up on a killer deal on something else
also i gota ? is it ok or stay away from the factory renewed products??
