this pistons team, has won a championship and been to the finals twice with the same starting 5, so that shows detroit knows how to get it done in the playoffs

oh and btw, im fairly positive that if you switched the mavs/pistons as far as conferences, dallas would have been in the finals the past 2 years and detroit wouldnt have made it out of the 2nd round.

lets take a look at who dallas lost too. last year they lost to phoenix, a soft team but good none the less, 2004 lost to sacremento 1st round. detroit has a very good record against western teams. also detroit was 12 minutes from beating san antonio and pwnd los angeles who was supposedly the best team ever. also miami was very good last year. 59 win team. the year before that they beat indiana who led the nba with 60 some wins

Miami was 3 minutes and a healthy dwayne wade from beating Detroit and going to the Finals. Nobody wants to hear about could have been's. Also the Lakers weren't the supposed best team ever, it was quite clear that the team chemistry just wasn't there, they should have lost to San Antonio in the earlier round.

Dallas is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too inconsistent to even dream of a championship run. One game they look unbeatable and the next game they could lose to an 8th grade basketball team. Reason being.........they do NOT play defense for shit. They run and gun and when they're hitting their shots they're hard to stop. When they're shooting a low percentage they get blown out of the water.

They don't need a change in personnel. They need a complete change in philosophy in order to make a serious run at a championship.

I mentioned that because you mentioned detroit was only 12 minutes from beating san antonio. SA isn't the team they were last year. Ginobli was the difference maker and this year he just isn't the same.

Nobody is coming up with excuses. The pistons won the championship against the lakers in 04. The lakers had more talent, they just didn't have the chemistry. Detroit did and they got it done. You can look at whatever sport you want and I promise you'll find that pure talent alone does not win championships. If it were true the Yankees would have won the world series the last 3 or 4 years.
