No kidding....I'd rather use my gains, x-overs, etc...I dont think Ive ever adjusted the bass boost on a head unit.

I just turned the loudness to mid level on my P640 and upped the bass mid and tweets a lil bit. I have no x/o or EQ hooked up so i kinda can't controll it any other way.

Within the last year I have really stepped it up in the hu department. I went from a Panasonic 2 Pioneer 2 Eclipse. I noticed a step up from each brand. I love my new Eclipse, it's not the top of the line but it's not the bottom, I forget the unit number, starts with a 5 though. I put in my Soad cd and I feel like I'm in the f*ing concert. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

i love my pioneer p9400mp. i dont know why i like it but it has alot of easy to use features and has great sound quaility. a huge step up from my old panasonic and clarion hu's.

i hear they are extremely hard to use and take a good month to work along with owners manual... but definitely have nice features. im getting a p740mp which is 1 step down and looks nice.

Any alpine h/u, I love my cva 1005....easy to use clean sound....

pioneer premier, unclipped out put voltage (RCA outs) no matter how high you turn it up....until you start using those gay eq presets....

they have one of the cleanest out put voltages, no clipping, until you use those stupid Eq presets....then it will clip....clipping=bad....plus an eq should do those duties, not your h/u...everything on your h/u should be in the middle, nothing turned up, no bass boost etc....it is used to play cd's, and turn up volume, that is it....

ok, ok... thats cool. i am htinking of getting a preamp equalizer though. do you think there should be any problems with that, like will it clip or anything? it will probabaly only be like a 5-7 band and im mostly getting it for the subwoofer control dial

well, i have a clarion peq 460 and i absolutely love it....i can't listen without it...shouldn't clip, but the only problem i myslef had, was that my 1200d, can only take so much input volatage, and the eq put out 7 volts, so it was making it go into protection, but a simple solution was turn the gain down on the eq.....but i highly reccomend getting one....then your deck can be just used to play your tunes, and the eq does what it is supposed to...

that sound good... but wont messing with a whole bunch of gains before amp imput make it sound bad? i dont even know what output this eq does, lemme check it out.

do you think its worth it to get a disc changer and put it in the back or somehting?
