is there such thing as an active crossover, i thought they were just passive

yes i believ passive, x overs are like the ones on components, active may be what the eq does...or amp does

the amp has the same xover as components, but its adjustable.

Passive cossovers are the ones you see coming with component sets, active do the crossing over in the low level input areas, like the RCA leads. (the crossovers built into your decks and amps are active.)

oh, i get it...

i just thought about this a little while ago, do the equalizers boost certain frequencies when you turn them up?? and if so, wont this make it sound bad if you have a preamp eq?
